Welcome to NoRot. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you (“you” or “User”) and Harshavardhan A. (“NoRot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the NoRot mobile application and any related services, features, and content (collectively, the “App” or “Service”).

Please read these Terms carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 9 years old to use the App.

If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.

By using the App, you represent that you satisfy these requirements and that any information you provide is accurate.

2. What NoRot Does

NoRot is a productivity and screen-time management application that helps users build healthier digital habits.

Features may include:

App blocking
Scheduled app blocking
Focus sessions
Timers
Brain Score / Focus Score
Daily insights
Usage statistics
Challenges
Streaks
Personalized productivity analytics
Progress tracking

We may add, modify, or remove features at any time without notice.

3. Screen Time Permissions and Device Access

NoRot uses Apple’s Screen Time API and Family Controls framework to provide app-blocking and productivity features.

By using the App, you acknowledge that:

You voluntarily authorize NoRot to access Apple’s Screen Time and Family Controls permissions.
These permissions are managed entirely through iOS Settings.
You may revoke permission at any time.
Revoking permission will disable some or all functionality.
Blocking accuracy depends on Apple’s operating system and frameworks, which are outside our control.

NoRot cannot bypass or override Apple’s operating system restrictions.

4. Analytics and Product Improvement

To improve the App, NoRot may collect anonymous or pseudonymized analytics regarding how users interact with the App.

Analytics may include:

Screens visited
Buttons tapped
Feature usage
Session duration
App launches
Performance metrics
Crash events
Diagnostic information

Analytics does not include:

Screen Time history
Family Controls data
Apps you use
Time spent inside apps
Your blocked app list

Analytics is used solely to improve reliability, usability, feature development, and performance.

5. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use NoRot for your personal, non-commercial use on devices that you own or control.

This license does not transfer ownership of the App or any intellectual property.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App unlawfully.
Monitor another person’s device without their knowledge and permission.
Reverse engineer, modify, copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the App except where permitted by law.
Circumvent security features.
Use bots, scripts, automation, or scraping tools against the App.
Interfere with servers or infrastructure.
Attempt unauthorized access to any systems or accounts.
Abuse free trials or subscription systems.

Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination.

7. Subscriptions, Payments, and Renewals

Certain features require a Premium subscription.

Billing

Subscriptions are processed through Apple’s App Store.

We never receive or store your payment card information.

Pricing

Prices are displayed before purchase and may change for future billing periods.

Auto Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.

Apple charges your Apple ID account within 24 hours before the renewal period begins.

Cancellation

Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled through your Apple ID subscription settings.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

Free Trials

If offered, unused portions of a free trial are forfeited when purchasing a subscription.

If you do not cancel before the trial ends, Apple will charge your account.

Refunds

Refunds are handled solely through Apple in accordance with Apple’s refund policies.

8. No Guaranteed Results

NoRot is designed to encourage healthier digital habits.

However, we do not guarantee that:

Your screen time will decrease.
Your productivity will improve.
You will achieve any particular goal.
Blocking will always function without interruption.

Results depend on many factors beyond our control.

9. Medical Disclaimer

NoRot is not:

A medical device
A healthcare service
A mental health service
A diagnostic tool
A treatment

Brain Score, Focus Score, insights, and recommendations are informational and motivational only.

They are not measures of intelligence, cognitive ability, mental health, attention disorders, or medical conditions.

Always seek professional advice for medical or psychological concerns.

10. Privacy

Your use of NoRot is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy explains:

What information we collect
How we use it
Your privacy rights
How analytics works

Importantly:

Screen Time information remains on your device.
We do not upload or sell your Screen Time history.
Analytics does not include your app usage history or blocked apps.

11. Intellectual Property

All rights in NoRot remain the property of Harshavardhan A. or our licensors.

This includes:

Software
Source code
Designs
Graphics
Logos
Mascot
Icons
Branding
Text
Images
Features

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use our intellectual property without written permission.

12. User Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, or feature requests, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use them without compensation or obligation.

13. Third-Party Services

The App may rely upon third-party services including:

Apple
App Store
Authentication providers
Analytics providers
Crash reporting providers
Cloud infrastructure providers

Your use of those services is governed by their respective policies and terms.

We are not responsible for third-party services.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING:

MERCHANTABILITY
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
NON-INFRINGEMENT
AVAILABILITY
ACCURACY
RELIABILITY

We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that the App will always function without bugs or failures.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HARSHAVARDHAN A. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

The amount you paid us during the previous twelve months; or
USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Harshavardhan A., affiliates, contractors, and service providers against claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

Your misuse of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of applicable law
Your infringement of another person’s rights

17. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access if:

You violate these Terms.
Required third-party services become unavailable.
We discontinue the App.
We reasonably believe continued access creates security or legal risks.

Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution survive termination.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms periodically.

Material changes will be communicated by:

Updating the “Last Updated” date;
Providing notice within the App where appropriate.

Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, India, unless applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.

20. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are between you and Harshavardhan A., not Apple.

Apple is not responsible for:

The App
Maintenance
Support
Claims regarding the App

If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, where applicable.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.

21. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and NoRot.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.

Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.

We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the App or business.
